Housatonic Museum of Art to include Joan Fitzsimmons Prints in Permanent Collection
Two photographs from my Plant Life series have been acquired by the Housatonic Museum of Art , Bridgeport, CT for their permanent collection. The Museum has one of the most significant collections of any two-year college in the country and includes works by master artists such as Rodin, Picasso and Matisse.

Joan Fitzsimmons to participate in 3rd Annual Governor’s Island Art Fair
I have been invited by Margaret Bodell, Umbrella Arts Gallery, NY, NY to participate in the 3rd annual Governor’s Island Art Fair. Margaret Bodell and Mary Ann Fahey, also of Umbrella Arts, are memb
ers of The 4heads Collective, a New York based arts group. The 4heads Collective is the organizing body for this event.

The fair is held over 4 weekends, from September 4th to 26th, 2010 on Governors Island, New York City, 800 yards from Lower Manhattan, accessible via a free 5-minute ferry ride.

The exhibition space of The Governors Island Art Fair is housed in a landmark army barracks. All of the spaces included in the exhibition will be open to the public every Saturday and Sunday in September (4th-26th) during park hours, 11am to 6pm.
